Lake Oswego's SCRATCH Foods has a Portland takeover in the works. In addition to downtown's lunch counter SCRATCH.cafeteria (which is now scheduled to open in two weeks), chef/owner Patrick Lee Warner tells Eater that at least two other itchy incarnations are upcoming.
The first, a "mirror" of Lake Oswego's restaurant (also named SCRATCH.foods) is tentatively scheduled to open this May in a close-in SW spot near Portland State University. Following that, the already vegetarian-friendly Warner also plans to open a gluten-free/vegan/vegetarian restaurant called La Bette, which will grace the Lair Hill neighborhood of southwest Portland. Four restaurants within two years: Looks like we have an empire-builder on our hands.
