Zhab Zhab Shutters; Garofola to Genoa; T-Rex Goes Extinct

In today's lunchtime EaterWire, the rumor mill's working overtime:

N. MISSISSIPPI: The former Lovely Hula Hands/Taiyou space — whose most recent incarnation, Zhab Zhab, went on the market in November — now appears to sit empty again. A tipster sends in this image of the papered space ("Under Construction" signs hang in the window), and the Zhab Zhab sign has gone MIA.

BELMONT: An Eater operative reports that former Tabla sommelier Michael Garofola, who was the victim of a post-Ten-01 shutter shuffle, has landed alongside David Anderson and Daniel Mondok at Genoa. No word yet on his specific role/title.

N. MISSISSIPPI: Food Carts Portland reports today that T-Rex, the all gluten-free cart by Garden State's Kevin Sandri, has gone the way of the dinosaur. Sandri's original cart remains in business, and plans are to re-open the Rex as the equally-humorously-named Burgatroyd. We're gonna go ahead and guess that they'll serve burgers or something like that.
