After keeping noodle-soup fiends waiting for months, Hiro Ikegaya's casual tapas-and-ramen spot, Mirakutei, bowed last night on E. Burnside. The tight 30-seat space (prepare to get extremely cozy with your neighbors on busy nights) boasts an open kitchen/sushi station/six-seat sushi bar offering five rolls and four house-special maki options, in addition to more than 15 tapas-style dishes (filed under "salad," "sashimi carpaccio," meat, and fish headings). The ramen itself is limited to three kinds — original, miso butter, and spicy yuzu miso — but that shouldn't stop the E. Burnside drunk crowds from wandering in after 10pm. Mirakutei is open until 11pm Monday-Thursday, until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
