Classic Wines Auction 2011 Toasts This Saturday

For those willing to drop a month or two of rent on a really swank gala, the annual Classic Wines Auction (the 2011 event fetes this Saturday, March 5) provides just the ticket — think a black-tie-optional auction where top chefs (this year, it's Corey Schreiber and Adam Sappington) cook up dinner while the bid cards fly. (The whole evening benefits five local charities: Metropolitan Family Service, New Avenues for Youth, Friends of the Children, Trillium Family Services, and the Clark County YWCA.)

Online registration for this year's live auction has closed, but for those to get into the competitive spirit of auction bidding, the CWA has entered the eBay arena with a few auction opportunities available online. Currently available to "Buy It Now!" or bid via the interwebs: Entrance for two at Metrovino's Wineapalooza, which will feature 10 local winemakers pouring on-site at the Pearl restaurant; entrance for a group of 10 at a Brasserie Montmarte casino night; and for hardcore drunks, a lot featuring 64 bottles of Oregon wine.
