Straight From NY Pizza; Sisters Coffee Co. Opening in PDX

New, 2 comments

In today's Plywood Report, two out-of-town invasions are slated to hit Portland streets:

BELMONT: A liquor license application reveals that Salem-based Straight From New York Pizza (not to be confused with NW 23rd's Escape from New York Pizza) is opening its first Portland franchise in the Belmont building that once housed Dixie Mattress Co. The 20-year-old SFNY currently has three restaurants in Salem, with a menu featuring pizza by the slice and by the pie. [EaterWire]

PEARL DISTRICT: Sisters, Ore.-based Sisters Coffee Co. has announced its plans to open a 1,800-square-foot cafe at NW 13th and Marshall in the Pearl. According to reports, the space "will have an 'urban-rustic' feel utilizing native woods and artwork from Pearl District artists," with a menu featuring pastries from neighborhood bakeries. Project opening date: mid-April. [NuggetNews]
