In today's New York Times-Loves-Oregon-Wire, the paper of record visits Corvallis' Afton Field Farm to chronicle the "emerging group of people in their 20s and 30s who have chosen farming as a career." Though the national average age of farmers is creeping toward 60 years of age, youthful Oregon farmers are "succeeding because of Oregon’s farmer-foodie culture, which demands grass-fed and pasture-raised meats." It appears that they also throw kick-ass dinner parties. [NYTimes]
