Jenn Louis' long-stewing casual "come-as-you-are" spot, Sunshine Tavern, has a new opening date, and it sounds official: April 19. As previously reported, the part-bar, part-clubhouse space (which features '80s video games, shuffleboard, and a bar made from recycled bowling alley wood) will serve upscale takes on pub grub like house-made pork rinds, fried chicken & semolina waffles, steak frites with roasted shallot butter, and soft-serve ice cream (as part of a collaboration with Fifty Licks' Chad Draizin). Eight beers will be available on tap (with 22 varieties by the bottle), and a frozen margarita/daquiri machine will whip up concoctions from house-made syrups. [EaterWire]
