The Portland organizers behind national charity event Taste of the Nation have revealed the list of 2011 participants, with more than 50 restaurants on-hand for your crafting-dinner-out-of-hors-d'oeuvres pleasure (newbies Aviary and Boke Bowl are among those on the laundry list). For high rollers, six restaurants deemed "Gems" — Beast, Castagna, Genoa, June, Laurelhurst Market, and Tasty & Sons — will serve exclusively during a VIP/LUXE ticketing hour. (Genoa chef David Anderson is serving as honorary chef chair of the whole shebang.)
As per usual, 100 percent of ticket sales benefit Share Our Strength, a national non-profit that aims to end childhood hunger in America. Taste of the Nation Portland is scheduled to take over Northeast's Luxe Autohaus on May 2; tickets are currently available online.
