PEARL DISTRICT: The former Olea space's new tenant, Brix Tavern, has emerged as an "upscale sports bar" for the Pearl (it's operated by Urban Restaurants, Inc., owners of Nob Hill's Bartini and Urban Fondue). According to the Facebooks, the spot features "modern luxeries including eight flat-screen TVs, 2 pool tables, dart boards, retro arcade games, and a juke box." Menu items include roasted butternut squash oven-fired pizza; applewood-smoked salmon BLT; and chili and coriander marinated pork roasts. Opening date is set for April 22.
CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL: According to an email blast sent by head honcho Kevin Ludwig, Beaker & Flask's long-stewing adjacent bar is close to opening: "Rum Club is under construction and compared to Beaker, the whole process has been a breeze. Look for us to get the doors open in the next month or two."
