KANPAI! Sake Event to Raise Funds for Mercy Corps

The Portland sake-drinking community will gather for another Japanese earthquake relief benefit for Mercy Corps (Portland's Restaurants for Relief effort, by the way, raised more than $25,000 on March 29). On May 1, Holocene plays host to KANPAI!, a tasting event featuring between 40-50 different sakes from local and national breweries; restaurants like Departure, Kin, and Yuzu supply bites. A minimum $30 donation to Mercy Corps (through the KANPAI! fundraising site) is required for entry, and because everything from food to drink to the venue was donated, 100% of donations go directly to Mercy Corps' long-term relief efforts in Japan... and the donation is 100% tax-deductible.
