In today's it's-sunny-and-Friday EaterWire, some Booze News from around the wire:

SOUTHEAST: Because sometimes wine pairing dinners just don't cut it, Beaker & Flask and the Oregon Bartenders Guild will team for a five-course whiskey pairing dinner on April 17, to benefit Second Harvest, a Japan-based food bank. Beaker bartender Dave Shenaut will serve five Japanese-made whiskys, paired with a special menu created by sous chef Anthony Walton. Expect courses like miso-marinated Kobe beef paired with an 18-year single malt; reservations are $120 and available here.

SOUTHEAST: Liquor license paperwork reveals that the Alameda Brewing Company , whose pub house sit pretty on NE Fremont Street, is opening a "manufacturing-only" facility off SE 24th, near the Reed campus.
