Once again, Portland restaurants will roll out a month-long Dealfeed during June's Dining Month Portland, wherein some of the city's foodie hotspots (Paley's Place! Clarklewis! Lincoln!) will offer a three-course prix fixe dinner for $25. The full list of participating restaurants is available here, but some menus are already available for diners' perusal — and thankfully, this year's lineup is breaking out of the standard salad-pasta-dessert mold.
Among the more unique menus: Buzzy bistro Cocotte eschews the dessert course entirely, offering a trifecta of charcuterie plate (with chicken rillettes and mousse), fennel salad, and pasta Niçoise; neighbor Yakuza similarly shakes up course progression by featuring four sushi roll options for the third course. And over in Old Town, Gilt Club pulls out the stops when it comes to menu options, giving diners three options for both starter and entree, without skimping on the good stuff (for the latter, choose among spicy fennel sausage, salt-and-pepper fried quail, and a take on chicken and dumplings featuring butter-poached chicken with foie gras gnocchi). More menus expected to roll out as June approaches; start plotting your month now.
