Portland Monthly's Karen Brooks reports this afternoon that certified-sustainable sushi restaurant Bamboo Sushi will open a second location, in Northwest Portland, later this year. According to the article, Bamboo mastermind Kristofer Lofgren, the "ecopreneur" who co-owned Masu East before opening the country's first certified sustainable sushi restaurant in 2008, is still in lease negotiations for an unspecified 3,200-square-foot space on NW 23rd Ave. The new Bamboo marks the second outpost in what Lofgren has referred to as the "World's First Multi-Concept Sustainable Restaurant Group," and welcomes San Francisco chef Brian Landry to Portland. More information as it becomes available.
