Two quick-and-dirty Derby Saturday events to report:

N. WILLIAMS: Eat: An Oyster Bar celebrates the Kentucky Derby this Saturday by firing up its first Louisiana crawfish boil of the year: Mint Juleps and Kentucky Oaks Lilies (a combination of vodka, sweet-and-sour mix, cranberry juice, and triple sec) will be served alongside pounds and pounds of crawfish. Ridiculous Derby hats encouraged; festivities start with the first race, at 2:45pm.

BELMONT: Cascade Brewing Barrel House, meanwhile, hosts the 2011 Saison Festival on Saturday from noon to 10pm, with 18 different breweries contributing kegs of their Saison ales and ciders (participants include Breakside, Oakshire, Double Mountain, Upright, and a project by the Green Dragon, among others). Frequent beer-festival-attendees can bring their own plastic festival glass (to save on the $3 mug fee); tastes of each brew will set you back $1.
