E. BURNSIDE: FYI: Hiro Ikegaya's ramen-and-Japanese-tapas joint Mirakutei has, as we once speculated/finger-crossed, opened for lunch as of this week. Midday hours are 11:30am to 2:30pm, Monday-Friday only. [Facebook]
DOWNTOWN: "Weiner mama" Ellen Green has announced that SuperDog will shutter its two downtown locations later this month. Per a press release: "It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of SuperDog, in downtown Portland. SuperDog unfortunately was not able to weather the storm of the financial crisis, the Park location will close on Friday 5/6, and the 6th Avenue location will close on Friday 5/27." Green notes, however, that SuperDog mobile will be out and about during events throughout the summer, for your hot dog fix. [EaterWire]
NOB HILL/SOUTHEAST: Eat Beat's Anna Sachse sits down with Ken Forkish (of Ken's Artisan Bakery and Ken's Artisan Pizza fame), who reveals two juicy nuggets. One: He's currently working on a cookbook, to be published by Ten Speed Press in 2012. Two: "I’m still working out my own plans for what’s next, but I’m thinking of opening a new restaurant in a year or two." [Eat Beat]
