While Eater eagerly awaits your Fleet Week photos of sailors eating (no seriously), some events of note in today's EaterWire:
SOUTHEAST: The newly re-opened and re-vamped Pacific Pie Co. will join its new neighbors Deco Distilling and Vie de Bohème for a SE 7th Avenue Block Party, scheduled for next Wednesday, June 15. All three spots will offer food and drink specials, including two free tastes at Deco, half-price flights at Vie de Bohème, and $2 Aussie beer specials at the Pie Co. Party starts at 7pm. [EaterWire]
N. KILLINGSWORTH: Portland's vegetarian-turned-butcher Berlin Reed (aka the Ethical Butcher) will team up with NE Killingsworth's Saraveza on June 20 for a "Summer Beats & Bacon" party. Accompanied by a DJ, Reed will serve up bites of at least 12-15 bacon creations like bacon-candied popcorn and bacon-wrapped herb bundles, all using his specialty flavored bacon. Tickets are $25 or two for $40, and available here; after this kick-off event, the party moves on to San Francisco and Seattle to spread the Porkland love.
OLD TOWN: The KitchenCru community kitchen space welcomes yet-another chef-fueled dinner party: Former Cafe Nell chef Andrew Garrett hosts an "Open Kitchen" dinner party on Sunday, June 12, featuring five meaty courses (think boar, lamb, and duck eggs) paired with Belgian-style ales by Ambacht Brewing. Reservations available here.
