In anticipation of this year's Diner 2011, the Oregonian's annual restaurant guide, the newspaper is playing coy with a slow roll-out of content on OregonLive. The Oregonian's big award-winners — the Rising Star and Restaurant of the Year — won't be revealed until they're printed on June 23, but in the meantime, each day will see the publication of a new section online, featuring recommendations in categories like "Outer Eats," "Real Deals," and "Everyday Excellence." Example: Today's section, titled "Keep in Mind," features picks for "for when you know what you want but not where to get it," dividing recommendations into sub-categories for pizza, Thai, and breakfast.
Last year, the Diner guide named Castagna its Restaurant of the Year and Laurelhurst Market its Rising Star; commence speculation about this year's award-winners... now.
