Restaurateur Bruce Carey has landed a huge name to helm the kitchen of Bluehour, the swanky Pearl spot that saw the departure of longtime head chef Kenny Giambalvo earlier this spring.
PoMo's Karen Brooks reports that Thomas Boyce, a recent Portland transplant (and husband of Beard Award-winning baker Kim Boyce), has been tapped to revamp Bluehour, and Boyce comes with an impressive pedigree: He acted as chef de cuisine at L.A.'s Spago for nine years before his move to Portland. According to the bubbling Brooks, Boyce's new Bluehour menu — which be will primarily French- and Italian-influenced, with "some Japanese and Indian flavors" — will debut in August.
