Old Town's Voodoo Doughnut Re-Opens; Tourists Rejoice

As indicated so eloquently by the Merc's Sarah Mirk in this post on Friday, "I repeat: VooDoo Doughnut is open! And, yes, there's already a line down the block." A little behind schedule, but still in time for the high tourist season, VooDoo Doughnuts "softly" opened their doors last Friday afternoon. "Soft opening" be damned. Eater witnessed the lines for itself, even cutting in line to grab some early pics of the newly expanded original location for the extremely popular downtown doughnut shop. A nice, if slightly overwhelmed, staff member, when asked by Eater what time they had finally opened that day, said only "the grand opening is on July 9."
