[DeJesus, 7/12/11]
Borrowing a page from N. Mississippi's Prost and Mississippi Marketplace synergy, the interior dining space for NW Portland's first cart pod, Quimby's at 19th, officially (and finally!) opened over the weekend (plans had been stewing for the former Cheers NW bar space since January of this year.) The brick-and-mortar, full-service bar serves as a space for eating cart food purchased from the adjacent pod, and along with its six taps, the Q-19 bar also serves an 11-item pizza menu, calzones, breadsticks, and other bar food staples like a super-XXL-sized $20 plate of nachos. (Outdoor lot seating is also available)
Though the bar/pod owners are planning on hosting up to eight carts in the outdoor pod, only four are currently parked in the Q-19 lot — Chili Inside, Chili Outside, the Farmhouse, Sawasdee Thai, and Philly's Fat Omelettes. And while cart hours vary, the Q-19 bar will stay consistent: Happy hour is available daily from 3-6pm and late night (9pm-midnight) on Sunday and Monday.
