For those looking to get a lil' Francophile over the weekend, tomorrow (Saturday, July 16) marks the fifth-annual celebration of Pix Patisserie's Bastille Day block party, at the bakery's N. Williams location. In addition to live music and DJs throughout the day (party starts at 3pm and runs until midnight), expect shenanigans like a wine-fueled "Fun Run," champagne sabering, grape stomping, and a champagne and oyster bar for noshing. Admission is free, but Pix is encouraging revelers to bring two (or more!) non-perishable food items to donate to Oregon Food Bank. [EaterWire]
