Portland Monthly's Eat Beat confirms the rumor that E. Burnside's Luce, the event space opened by Navarre's John Taboada last summer, will expand next door into an Italian-inspired grocery-slash-restaurant.
Co-owner Giovanna Parolari answers Eat Beat's 5 Questions about the project: According to the article, longtime Navarre chef John Willis will man the kitchen full-time, churning out a mostly small-plate menu featuring "antipasti, focaccia, soup, salads, pasta, and rotating list of a few specials." Luce's double-storefront space (the current event space will remain intact) is scheduled to debut in late July.
