A "Box Social" Bar, St. Johns Distillery, and Alberta Bottleshop

N. WILLIAMS: The O reports that Sapphire Hotel co-owner Shannon McQuilkin is behind the Box Social, a 1,000-square-foot bar slated to open on the same N. Williams block that welcomed Hopworks' BikeBar earlier this year. Projected opening: late 2011. [OregonLive]

ST. JOHNS: According to WWeek, the folks behind St. Johns neighborhood spot Cathedral Park Kitchen have applied for an OLCC license to open a distillery in the same building. It'll be called Pure Lush Spirits, which sound like our kind of spirits, really. [WWeek]

ALBERTA: A tipster reports signage for a "pizzeria and bottle shop" in the same NE Alberta building that will soon house Salt & Straw's brick-and-mortar location. A cursory interweb search for Rue Via Chicago, the name on the signage, yields little, so if you've got the scoop, holler. [EaterWire]

UPDATE: The spot's called Via Chicago, which means it might be related to the farmer's market spot of the same name. More info as it becomes available...
