NORTHEAST: Andy Ricker's NE takeout spot Pok Pok Noi will end its daily lunch service on August 1. "If you are in the restaurant business, you know that lunches can be a tough proposition and, though the neighborhood has been wonderfully welcoming, the numbers are not adding up for us," Ricker says via an email newsletter. "Noi may reopen during daytime hours at some point in the future with a different menu that requires less hands on deck." Noi's new daily hours will be 5pm-midnight.
BUCKMAN: And another satellite IPNC event to the calendar: On Sunday, July 31, Nostrana will host a "Burgers and Brunello" patio party at the restaurant from 5pm to close, featuring chef Cathy Whims' off-menu pork and porcini burgers paired with a flight of Brunello. Cost for a burger and booze is $30, with an additional flight of Rosso di Montalcino for $10. Reservations recommended.
SE BELMONT: A tipster writes into say that Nebraska, an internet search engine nightmare / vegan bar by the Bye & Bye's Liam Duffy, is set to open tonight in the former Dixie Mattress space on SE Belmont. Got more details? You know what to do.
UPDATE: According to PDX Pipeline, the bar formerly known as Nebraska is opening tonight under the moniker the Sweet Hereafter. [@pdxpipeline]
