Noted sommelier Erica Landon has just accepted a position with Bruce Carey Restaurants to become the new BCR Wine Program Manager.
The former wine director and general manager of Ten 01, this Wine Spectator Award of Excellence winner (2007-2010) was born and raised in Portland, Ore. Previous to Ten 01, Landon pulled the corks on many a bottle at Timberline Lodge, Dundee Bistro, and the Heathman Restaurant & Bar. Starting with Bluehour, says owner Bruce Carey, Erica will direct the wine programs with a new approach designed to accompany (newly hired) chef Thomas Boyce's cuisine with her own distinct vision.
Eater had a chance to speak to Landon and here is what she had to say about her new position: "I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with both Bruce and Thomas, as well as everyone else at BCR. Bruce's business expertise and abilities are unmatched in Portland and I am thrilled to get the chance to learn from him."
