Ruby Jewel's Party; Openings for Moonshine, LeLa's Bistro

N. MISSISSIPPI: Lisa Herlinger-Esco, the main ice cream sandwich-slinger at Ruby Jewel, is celebrating the one year anniversary of her brick-and-mortar scoop shop with an all-day party scheduled for next Sunday, July 17. In addition to offering special flavors, strawberry shortcake sparklers, and drawings for free treats, the invite promises "a surprise live performance by renowned local musical guests" between 4-6pm. NORTHWEST: Moonshine Kitchen & Lounge, a new bar by Clinton Street Pub veteran Sepal Meacham, made its public debut last night (in a NW 17th building that once contained offices for Paymaster). The menu focuses on chili, burgers, chili burgers, and according to the Merc's Blogtown, will soon roll out more Mexican influences, in the form of vegetarian and vegan tamales. NORTHWEST: LeLa's Bistro, a Vietnamese sandwich shop affiliated with Binh Minh Bakery & Deli, debuted last week in the NW 23rd house once occupied by the Nook Cafe.
