Kitchen shuffle to report at Buckman's not-so-underground supperclub-style spot Simpatica Dining Hall: Co-owner Ben Dyer confirms the rumors from earlier this week that chef Scott Ketterman has announced plans to leave the Simpatica kitchen. "After a number of years of exemplary service, Scott has decided to begin the next leg of his journey," Dyer tells Eater. Ketterman's departure will become effective at the end of the month, and his final dinner service is this Friday, August 19. (Instead of the previously announced tapas dinner, Friday's special meal will feature grilled lamb chops and Dungeness crab crepes.)
Ketterman has served as Simpatica's chef since July 2007, and though his future plans are currently up in the air, Dyer says that opening his own restaurant has long been part of Ketterman's goals. "Either way, we appreciate all he has done for us and wish him the best of luck in whatever may come his way," Dyer says. "He will always be a part of this organization and a part of Simpatica's history, and for that we will always be grateful." Ketterman's replacement has already been found, but will not be officially named until next week at the earliest.
