CITY HALL: Just when Eater was bummed that it's the only local blog unable to write about Mayor Sam Adams this week, this: Next Tuesday, the pop-up cooking class series Flash Kitchen will visit the steps of City Hall from noon to 1pm, with Scott Ketterman of Simpatica Dining Hall walking Mayor Adams and City Commissioners Nick Fish, Amanda Fritz, Randy Leonard, and Dan Saltzman through a summer salad recipe. As always, Whole Foods will donate $1 for every spectator to charity; this time around, the beneficiary is Loaves & Fishes Centers, the Meals-on-Wheels People. [EaterWire]

NW/ALPHABET DISTRICT: According to this here Craigslist ad, the just-announced NW 21st outpost of "Stone-Age diner" Dick's Kitchen is shooting for an October opening. Also spotted on the CL: Owner Richard Satnick appears to be planning a new location for Laughing Planet in SW Portland. [Craigslist]

FOOD TV: It's another local chef's turn on the completely insane Cooking Channel show Extreme Chef: Departure chef Gregory Gourdet's episode is scheduled to air tomorrow night at 10pm. [EaterWire]
