Though its best known-benefit is the annual Taste of the Nation glutton fest, Share Our Strength, the national non-profit with the admirable goal of ending childhood hunger in America, also raises money and awareness for its cause during a series of "No Kid Hungry" dinners that have featured top chefs from across the country — and Portland's first-ever event has been confirmed.
The Pearl's Irving Street Kitchen will host Portland's No Kid Hungry dinner on Monday, September 26 — with ISK executive chef Sarah Schafer assembling a lineup of all-star, all-female chefs to help craft the multi-course meal. Top Chef Master Naomi Pomeroy (Beast), Sarah Pliner (Aviary), Courtney Sproule (Din Din Supper Club), and pastry chef Kristen Murray (Paley's Place) will all join Schafer in the kitchen to create a special, one-off menu, while mixologist Lucy Brennan (Mint/820) will mix up drinks during an introductory cocktail reception.
Though the event's six weeks away, tickets (at $150 each) are available now by visiting the Share Our Strength website.
