Pairing Dinners at Firehouse, 23 Hoyt, OP, Podnah's Pit

In today's event planning EaterWire, beer and wine pairing dinners on-tap for the next couple weeks:

WOODLAWN: NE's Firehouse teams with Double Mountain brewery for a five-course patio party on Tuesday, August 16. Each course features multiple dishes (margherita pizza pairs with a summer salad in the second; grilled sausage and rotisserie chicken make up the third) and includes a Double Mountain beer pairing. $50 includes food and drink (but not gratuity); reservations available by calling the restaurant.

NORTHWEST 23rd: Also next Tuesday, August 16: Chef Amber Webster of 23 Hoyt cooks up a four-course dinner with pairings by Deschutes Brewery — menu items include salami infused with Black Butte Porter, sweet pea agnolotti (paired with Conflux #2), and beef cheeks braised in Mirror Pond (then paired with an Inversion IPA). Reservations are $50 and available by calling the restaurant.

NORTHWEST INDUSTRIAL: Olympic Provisions' NW outpost will host a dinner inspired by the French region of Alsace on Sunday, August 21, with chef Erin Williams serving up five courses like saucisson d'Alsace with pretzel crostini, poached fish with Riesling beurre blanc, and pork with herbed shell beans. Dinner costs $55, with an optional $25 wine pairing, and reservations are available by emailing here.

NORTHEAST: Podnah's pit boss Rodney Muirhead is throwing another one of his all-you-can-eat rib fests on Sunday, August 14: Dubbed Jurassic Pork , the event highlights wines by the Storyteller Wine Company, paired with unlimited ribs and side dishes. The $40 eating fee is all inclusive, and reservations are available here.

DOWNTOWN: And finally. On Thursday, August 25, Urban Farmer joins with Penner-Ash for a four-course pairing dinner. Among the menu highlights: Braised pork belly with hand-pulled mozzarella, and beef deckle with bone marrow flan. Seats are $95; reservations required.
