Anniversaries for Acadia, Doug Fir; Fire on the Mtn Date

SABIN/IRVINGTON: Northeast's New Orleans-inspired Acadia Bistro will celebrate its 10th anniversary throughout the month of October, featuring nightly $10 dinner specials like crawfish pie, Gulf shrimp with house bacon and white grits, and smoked duck étouffée. Chef Adam Higgs also promises "special gifts and surprises for everyone who dines at Acadia during the month of October." The celebration begins on the 1st. [EaterWire]

LOWER BURNSIDE: Burnside music venue the Doug Fir is also celebrating an anniversary in October — seven years to be exact — and in addition to a special lineup of shows during the week of October 3-9, the lounge is offering a few $7 food specials off of the recently revamped, Chris Israel-approved food menu. Starting October 3, seven bucks get guests a Fir burger with fries, or the "Logger breakfast," a drunkard's dream of eggs, has browns, breakfast meat, and a short stack. [EaterWire]

NORTHEAST: A tentative opening date has been set for Fire on the Mountain's upcoming NE Fremont brewery: According to a newsletter blast, the owners are shooting for a mid-November debut. As previous reported, McMenamins Kennedy School alum Ben Nehrling is the in-house brewer, and in addition to his original beers, FotM "will continue to feature other select, local beers such as Double Mountain, Amnesia, Laurelwood, Hopworks and more."
