According to Portland Monthly, pastry chef Kristen Murray is leaving her post at Paley's Place — effective at the beginning of March — to kick into gear plans to open her own spot. Per PoMo's Karen Brooks, "Murray feels this is the moment to pursue her longtime dream of running her own place, with hopes to find a location by fall." Murray, one of the city's most celebrated pastry chefs, enjoyed high-profile turns at Lucier and Fenouil before joining Paley's in October 2010. [Eat Beat]
