A few intrepid Yelpers are the first to report that Caps & Corks, a pub/bottle shop, has opened in NW's Emanon Cafe space (which closed in early January after nine years in business). Caps & Corks, another addition to Portland's uber-ampersanded collection of new bars and restaurants, promises more than 400 bottles of beer and wine available to-go, in addition to seven rotating taps.
According to co-owner Sean Hiatt, the spot soft-opened last Monday, with a grand opening celebration scheduled for January 27 (during which drinking locals can lay claim to a 25-ounce mug as part of a "mug club"). The food menu flaunts pub grub dishes like poutine, a "tater tot casserole" with beef and jalepenos, and vegetarian, beef, and chicken pot pies. A Saturday and Sunday brunch service (from 9am-2pm) features breakfast poutine, a buffalo scramble (sausages with roasted garlic, peppers, onions, and cheddar), Bailey's-battered french toast, and a $15 "Bloody Mary bucket" that serves two.
Hours moving forward: Monday-Thursday, 11an-11pm; Friday, 11am-midnight; Saturday, 9am-midnight; and Sunday, 9am-10pm.
