SEATTLE: In case you're heading up to Seattle, Eater SEA has given its Where to Drink Cocktails Right Now Heat Map a fresh update. Two new additions hit the map: Capitol Hill tiki joint Chino's and Fremont Korean/French fusion wunderbar Quoin, aka the other half of the much-lauded Revel restaurant. Meanwhile, on Capitol Hill, Top Chef Masters competitor Govind Armstrong opens 8 Oz. Burger Bar today, his first place in Washington. [-ESEA-]

BALLARD: Ballard lays early claim to being Seattle's hottest eating 'hood in 2012 with Bitterroot BBQ and Urban Family Public House opening in the last week. [-ESEA-]

VANCOUVER: Vancouver, BC's 10th-annual Dine Out Vancouver kicks off today (January 20) in the city's equivalent of "Restaurant Week." Unlike other restaurant weeks, it lasts 17 days (through February 5, and all 230 participating restaurants will offer multi-course prix fixe menus in three price ranges, $18, $28, or $38.
