NE ALBERTA: DarSalam, the kinda-brick-and-mortar restaurant by the folks behind SE Division's Aladdin's Castle Cafe food cart, has officially opened in the Alberta cart-slash-restaurant space formerly known as Suzette Creperie. (Got that?) Suzette vacated the space at the end of 2011, with plans to move into a new location on SE Belmont. DarSalam, like the cart, serves Iraqi/Middle Eastern fare like gluten-free falafel and shawarma. [EaterWire]
NE KILLINGSWORTH: Chef Naomi Pomeroy has announced the next date for Beast's uber-popular all-vegetarian dinners, and since they usually sell out, here's your early head's up. The veggie-friendly dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, February 21, which two available seatings (at 6pm and 8:45pm), and will feature courses like truffled goat cheese ravioli, white bean tarts with pickled mushrooms, and spaghetti squash with endive gratin. Reservations are $100 including wine pairings, and are available by calling the restaurant. [EaterWire]
