Downtown's newest quick-service burger has arrived. As promised, the third local outpost of Joe's Burgers — which has locations in Bridgeport Village and Southwest Portland — is set to debut across from Pioneer Place mall this Thursday, January 12. Like its other two spots, the downtown Joe's features grilled-to-order burgers (including a Chez Gourmet veggie option), fries, hot dogs with or without cheese and chili, and milkshakes. The 52-seat downtown spot will also offer beer on tap.
The Joe's burger chain, owned by the JoPa Hospitality Group (which, until recently, also operated the Pearl's 50 Plates restaurant), has expanded rapidly since debuting as a quick-serve kiosk in Bridgeport Village in fall 2010. In August 2011, JoPo shut down its eponymous Northwest Grill, replacing it with Joe's Burger & Bar; earlier this month, JoPo reps denied rumors that the 50 Plates space would be transformed into another burger outpost.
