[Avila, 10/17/12]
The "outlaw-country" details are still forthcoming (sand art!, terrariums!), but behold the cowboy swagger of NE's upcoming Tex-Mex spot Trigger, opening next week in Wonder Ballroom basement. "I love that subterranean feel," co-owner Tommy Habetz (of Bunk Sandwiches fame) told Eater earlier this month. "It's very New York or east coast, to have a half-underground space. I dig that." As promised, the 50-seat, low-hanging space features wood beams (sandblasted down to their original surface), dueling frozen margarita machines, and soda-fountain-style chairs at the bar and counter. Also: a mascot named Jane.
As previously reported, Trigger is set to open on October 24. Stay tuned for a full Eater Inside spread once this cowboy gets its spurs.
