A new Latino public market, the Portland Mercado, is in the works for SE Foster Road, the Oregonian reports. The Portland Development Commission owns the 5,700-square-foot building, most recently a used car lot, and per the O, the market will feature outdoor vendors and food carts, as well as "a butcher shop, a bakery, a commercial kitchen, food vendors, jewelry makers and produce sellers." Projected opening: summer 2014. More information here. [OregonLive via PortlandFood.org]
