1) Central Eastside Industrial: Oh you know, another new brewery/brewpub makes its debut in Portland. Base Camp Brewing Company celebrated its grand opening this weekend after an 18-month build-out. The sprawling brewery/tasting room features wood tables anchored by boulders, a firepit-dotted back patio, and decidedly outdoorsy theme (with a hanging canoe and lighted ceiling meant to mimic stars in the night sky. Brewmaster/owner Justin Fay debuted five brews over the weekend — with two more, Ripstop Rye Pils and Northwest Fest, coming next week — and food comes courtesy the Pizza Box food cart (pictured), which relocated from SE 82nd to permanent digs on the Base Camp lot. The brewery's hours of operation: 11:30a.m. to 9pm, Sunday-Wednesday; 11a.m. to midnight, Thursday-Saturday. [Thrillist, EaterWire]
2) Beaumont: PoMo reports that a new candy store has debuted on NE Fremont: Hattie's Sweet Shop, which is owned by Tricia Leahy of Sweets, Etc. in Multnomah Village. [Eat Beat]
