And the end-of-year lists begin. The Oregonian released its Best of 2012 Dining and Drink guides over the weekend — and not to be confused with its annual Diner guide, the listage features both reader and reporter/critic Michael Russell's picks in categories like "Best Food Cart," "Best Family Dining," and "Best Fast Food."
It's also a handy guide to Russell's personal favorites: downtown's Samurai Bento food cart, NE's Firehouse for Italian food, E. Burnside's Mirakutei for sushi, and the old-school RingSide Steakhouse for, well, steak. Notably, Russell and the O's voters overlapped in just four categories: Best Pizza (Apizza Scholls), Best French Restaurant (Le Pigeon), Best Wine Bar (Kir), and Best Breakfast Place (Tasty N Sons).
