[Avila, 11/2/12]
One of Portland's most cultishly beloved burgers now has its own home: Slow Bar owner Rob Hemmerling has swung the doors open at his micro-restaurant Slowburger, inside NE's the Ocean restaurant complex. The concise menu (downloadable here) features five kinds of burgers, simply labeled by number ("One" features gruyere and onion rings; "Two" with chipotle cheddar and bacon; and "Three" with blue cheese and pancetta), with a vegetarian-friendly and seasonal option also available. Sides include beer-battered onion rings, fries (with or without "stinky" cheese), and a simple mesculin salad. Beer is available on-tap, with growler fills also available for those taking their burgers to-go.
Slowburger is open now; hours of operation: 11a.m. to 11p.m., daily.
