Former Kim Jong Grillin' cart owner Han Ly Hwang — whose cart famously caught fire the evening after winning an award at the 2011 Eat Mobile event — is slowly inching toward the opening of his long-stewing brick-and-mortar restaurant Bhap Sang PDX. After construction delays forced the project to shoot past its original opening date (Hwang signed the lease for the SE Division space back in January 2012), Hwang is now seeking to raise $30,000 on micro-lending site Kickstarter. Per Hwang's fundraising video, "The Kickstarter goes directly into filling this place with equipment, finishing our construction, and all the little things that it takes to open a restaurant."
Bhap Sang's new projected opening: January 2013.
