Laughing Planet Founder Richard Satnick Sells Chainlet

A change to report at popular burrito bowl/smoothie spot Laughing Planet Cafe. The Oregonian reports Laughing Planet founder Richard Satnick sold his 10-location cafe chainlet earlier this week, to a group that includes current CEO Franz Spielvogel. The quick-service spot has seven locations in the Portland area, including storefronts on N. Mississippi Avenue, NW 21st Avenue, SE Belmont, and downtown near PSU.

According to the Portland Business Journal, Satnick retains interest in his two-location diner Dick's Kitchen, with possible plans for expansion: "[Satnick] plans to use the cash to perfect Dick's Kitchen, a diner built around using local ingredients and sustainable practices." Dick's — which takes a local, Paleo approach to the diner — currently has two locations, on NW 21st and SE Belmont Street.
