Coming Soon to PDX: One-Man Show About James Beard

Early next year, the Portland Center Stage will unveil a one-man show about favorite foodie son James Beard. After a run outside Washington, DC earlier this year (check current Eater DC editor Missy Fredrick's review here), I Love to Eat, named for Beard's short-lived cooking show, will debut at the Gerding Theater on January 8, with a run slated to last through February 4. But for its official premiere on Friday, January 11, the stage taps into local James Beard Award-winners for "grand tasting" event — featuring dishes by Philippe Boulot, Greg Higgins, Corey Schreiber, Gabriel Rucker, and Caprial Pence.

Tickets to the tasting/premiere are $125, with proceeds to benefit efforts to launch the James Beard Public Market. Tickets to regular showings range from $25-38. More information here.
