Honey Pot Pays it Forward; Another Cart at Base Camp

SOUTHEAST—After receiving an outpouring of donations and goodwill earlier this month post break-in, SE Belmont cart The Honey Pot will show its appreciation during a "free pie happy hour" this Saturday, from 2-3p.m. The first 100 guests during that hour will receive a free slice of sweet pie; more information about the deal (and owner Mary Sheridan's heartwarming holiday story) on the official Facebook page. CENTRAL EASTSIDE INDUSTRIAL—Looks like another mini cart pod is brewing. A tipster reports that Gonzo Falafel and Hummus, a well-loved refugee from the former D-Street Noshery pod, has set up shop outside SE's new brewery Base Camp Brewing. The falafelry, owned by Tal Caspi, joins food cart Pizza Box as Base Camp's unofficial "kitchen." Hours of operation: Sunday to Wednesday, 11:30a.m. to 9p.m.; Thursday to Saturday, 11a.m. to midnight. [EaterWire]
