GQ magazine's restaurant writer Alan Richman has named 2011's 10 Best New Restaurants in America, and the Woodsman Tavern — which just opened in October — makes the cut at #7 for its ever-so-Portland aesthetic and chef Jason Barwikowski's menu, which "steals smartly and shamelessly from around the globe." And of course, here's a reference to the Pacific Northwest's weather:
This isn't just some dutiful, farmy Portlandia-esque ideal, and after a few courses, you realize that the 'Tavern' descriptor is typical northwestern understatement, like saying that it sometimes rains here.
