Northwest bread-baking chain Grand Central Bakery announced today that it will open its seventh Portland-area storefront in the NE Fremont space that most recently housed Soluna Grill. (Soluna Grill shuttered in November 2011 after two years in business; previously, the space was home to the celebrated Fife, which closed in May 2009.) According to a press release, an interior remodel is planned for the space, and once completed, the bakery/cafe will offer the same menu as GCB's other locations (bread, pastries, soups, and sandwiches).
In addition to its six current locations in Portland (not counting farmer's markets), Grand Central also operates three storefronts in Seattle. Projected opening for GBC Beaumont: Early summer.
