During a hearing yesterday, the Portland City Council requested that the Oregon Liquor License Commission postpone its decision on whether or not to grant a permanent liquor license to the Cartlandia cart pod, citing the possible statewide ramifications stemming from food carts serving booze. The City of Portland has requested a strictly defined set of guidelines for OLCC-certified carts (current rules would treat food carts the same as brick-and-mortar establishments). If passed later this spring, Cartlandia plans to serve beer and wine from a single cart, with a separate roped-off drinking area for tipplers. [OregonLive]
