The dynamic chef duo of Greg Denton and Gabrielle Quiñonez Denton (formerly of Metrovino) will debut their upcoming restaurant OX on Thursday, April 12 — as part of a 30-guest Portland Food Adventures dinner. Team Denton announced earlier this year that OX, a concept inspired loosely by the Argentine wood-fired grill, would take over the NE MLK space that most recently held Echo — and would feature the grill as the dining room's focal point. (Denton notes that though the PFA event date is set, the official OX opening date remains unclear, and does not necessarily signal that OX will be open for business the following evening.)
The six-course private event — tickets are available here — continues the recent trend of restaurants soft-opening within organized events. (Oven & Shaker served its first dinners to those who purchased LivingSocial Gourmet vouchers; Wafu also offered preview dinners to PFA ticket holders. The common thread: ChefStable's Kurt Huffman.) As per usual, the dinner will feature multiple courses and wine, with gift certificates to the chefs' favorite spots (TBA).
