Oregonian beer man John Foyston reports that NW 23rd's New Old Lompoc brewpub has a move-out date: April 28. Earlier this year, it was announced that the Lompoc building would be demolished to make way for a new residential and retail complex on the corner of NW 23rd and Raleigh.
According to Foyston, however, the Lompoc's days on 23rd aren't completely numbered. Foyston writes that there will "be a Lompoc pub in the new retail space to open in a couple years — pub only, no brewing, no patio but with sidewalk open space." (The projected development, by CE John Properties, includes 4,700 square feet of ground-level retail.) The New Old Lompoc's impending closure does not effect Lompoc Brewing's other Portland locations (on SE Division, N. Williams, and SE Bybee), and a week of farewell parties — dubbed Lompocalypse — is being planned for April.
